With the thermometer on the rise and more leisure time being spent outdoors, I’ve found a really “cool” solution to transform any space—work areas and indoor/outdoor living spaces alike—into a seemingly air-conditioned oasis as temperatures soar! The KuulAire 45 evaporative cooling unit from Port-A-Cool is a great idea to help you chill out this season as you work, lounge and play.
KuulAire 45 is a portable yet powerful device that, with 200 square feet of cooling capacity, quickly makes small spaces more comfortable. As its lightweight housing weighs in at just twenty-two pounds, the unit can be easily moved from space to space, including hot spots like the office, playroom, garage, hobby workshop, sunroom, basement, balcony, and patio. Smooth-gliding caster wheels further enhance the unit’s portability.
Also environmentally friendly, the KuulAire 45 employs technology that assures it operates in a green fashion. In fact, this dandy device, which can be used as either an evaporative cooler or a fan, plugs into any standard 110V outlet and uses the same amount of electricity as a single light bulb. And, it chills the air the all-natural way with just the addition of ordinary tap water. Harmful chemicals, emissions, and egregious electricity usage need not apply. Even at the lowest speed setting, the immediate temperature reduction in the space is notable.
The KuulAire 45, which retails around $209, operates on a very basic principle. A powerful internal fan blows water through a “high efficiency rigid media” (a saturated filter), which evaporates the water to cool the air throughout the space. There are a number of features that leave you in complete command, such as an LED display, water level sensor, and three-speed settings with push button controls. With a 7.5 hour timer, remote control, and automatic swing louvers, the unit is decidedly user-friendly. Even better, it’s good to go the moment you take it from the box. No complicated instructions, configurations or assembly to contend with. Simply fill the reservoir with about two gallons of regular tap water, plug it in, and press the start button. How cool is that?
This season and beyond, forego those one-dimensional fans that just push the hot air around and click on your KuulAire 45 instead.
