5 Questions with Robin Antin of Pussycat Dolls Fame
Robin Antin is a true American success story. As a choreographer, clothing designer, and producer of her TV shows, she is both an exciting entertainer and savvy entrepreneur. This entertainment powerhouse has crafted stage material for some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Pink, Ricky Martin, Hilary Duff, No Doubt and Enrique Iglesias.
In 1995, she famously joined forces with Christina Applegate and Carla Kama to create the wildly successful modern burlesque troupe, The Pussycat Dolls, which achieved worldwide success, including two MTV Video Music Awards and three Billboard Music Awards. Robin recently took a moment out of her busy schedule shared her take on fine living with The Luxe List:
1. How do you define both basic and extreme luxury?
Robin: I think basic luxuries are things we use daily: cell phones, A/C, laptops. Extreme luxuries are the finest of fine: diamonds, yachts, private jets.
2. What items and/or experiences do you love to splurge on?
Robin: I love to get inspired by fashion and style. In fact, I always find great ideas and inspiration for the Pussycat Dolls from distinctive types of style ranging from pin-up to punk. As a result, I seem to always find myself splurging on clothing and accessories, but I also love a great spa day.
3. Where is the favorite place you have traveled to and why?
Robin: St. Barthes is one of my favorite places. Its stunning views, European flair, and remote location make it a perfect relaxing hotspot. The fashion, sun, and nightlife are not too bad either!
4. Do you consider yourself a “foodie”? Why or why not?
Robin: I love food! I really appreciate different types of foods and flavors, so I am constantly trying new restaurants. But, my favorite part about going out to eat is enjoying the great food with friends!
5. What is your favorite tip for “living fabulously”?
Robin: Staying healthy, staying fit, dancing, working, and of course, having great friends.
